Pearls
A facilitated virtual visit (FVV) can provide objective measures to a distant site provider. FVV is a type of synchronous telehealth visit. They can provide information from a digital peak flow meter, digital stethoscope, pulse oximeter, thermometer, etc., which help to discern between vocal cord dysfunction and an acute asthma exacerbation. Objectives measures are needed to differentiate between the two.
The Department of Veterans Affairs found telehealth reduces transportation needs and costs.
